  • Universal Design for Learning Institute

    • The Universal Design for Learning Institute (UDL-I) is a program on accessible course design that centers around Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support instructors in crafting equitable course materials and assessment methods. Participants develop/revise learning outcomes, syllabus language, assessment strategies, and Canvas course elements that center inclusion, accessibility, and equity. They also explore ways to leverage AI as an accessibility tool.

 

Technology/teams to support disability services:

  

Student disability center & other student-facing organizations supporting disability services: 

The Student Disability Center (SDC) is staffed by a team of professionals who have expertise in the education of students with disabilities. Student Disability Center Specialists approve services and coordinate accommodations to establish equal access to the University’s educational programs. While accommodation information is shared on a “need to know” basis in order to facilitate services, disability information kept confidential and does not appear on transcripts or diplomas.

 

Campus initiatives related to disability

Redwood SEED Scholars Program

  • The UC Davis Redwood SEED (Supported Education to Elevate Diversity) Scholars Program is a first-of-its-kind inclusive college program for students with intellectual disabilities in the state of California. Students in the program have an opportunity to live on campus, engage in social activities and organizations, take college classes and have multiple employment experiences.
